Volunteered to assist during a half-day event for minority middle school girls for exposure to hands-on STEM activities. Facilitated registration activities, guided groups of students to their scheduled activities, and served lunch.

National Society of Black Engineers 40th Annual Meeting, March 2014

Served as a student recruiter for the Georgia Tech Graduate School Exhibit Table.  Organized and hosted evening hospitality suites for networking and entertainment. Engaged and enlighted prospective students about Georgia Tech graduate programs during Career Fair.

 

 

Georgia Tech 4th Annual Martin Luther King Day of Service, MLK Day 2014

Worked with elementary schools students at the Create Your Dreams (CYD) after school center.   Helped students create tiles for an MLK Day-themed quilt and write Valentine's Day letters for the Troups.

Georgia Tech 3rd Annual Martin Luther King Day of Service, MLK Day 2013

Sorted donations for Wellspring Living, an upscale resale shop whose proceeds benefit women and children that are or have been victims of physical violence and sexual abuse and crime. 

 

 

CEISMC Mentor, Spring 2012 

Supported two high school seniors in preparing for college, finding scholarships, and completing class work and projects.

 

 

Mindset Program, Centennial Place Elementary School, December 2011

Visited Centennial Place Elementary School for an engineering workshop. Worked with third grade students to construct catapults from Popsicle sticks. Refereed the culminating competition for best design. 

 

 

Discovery Program, Thomasville Heights Elementary School, October 2011

One-day service activity that involved assisting second grade students with reading comprehension, mathematics, and grammar enrichment exercises. 

 

 

GT/Engineers Without Borders Case Competition (3rd Place), September-October 2011

Team competition to design a water distribution system for a refugee camp with no electricity and limited access to infrastructure-building materials.
